Dating furniture by the carvings
The seats and backs have been re-upholstered some 20 years ago in wool work upholstery in french cream and sage stripe fabric.Seats with hand stitched springs for extra comfort.the large seats are made very comfortable with the inclusion of springs under the wrap around sienna cut velvet upholstery.Raised on turned front legs and sabre rear legs and made of solid maple or blonde mahogany .
Well carved armrests scrolling with acanthus leaves cascade down to well shaped legs joined by a "X" shaped stretchers.
Large Baronial French carved walnut armchair in the manner of Louis XIV.
Well carved armrests curved legs and "H" stretcher.
This altar, with a dedication dating to 1937, has cupboards either side making it really handy and ideal for modifcation to be used as an island in a kitchen for example.
As seen in the second picture there is some wear on the top, we can restore this at an additional cost if required.
